II-VI Incorporated will present a series of innovative and differentiated products at LASER World of PHOTONICS 2017 event from June 26 - 29 in Munich, Germany. At the event booth the company will feature one of the broadest portfolios of merchant products for all laser technology platforms employed in high-power or precision materials processing. In a live robotic application, II-VI will also demonstrate the new seam tracking feature of its scanner based remote laser welding head RLSK.
In the life sciences area, II-VI’s display will consist of spectroscopy optics, flow cells and precision temperature controlled modules to support advances such as in DNA sequencing. It will also show products from epitaxial wafers to semiconductor lasers that will enable exciting new features such as 3D sensing in the next generation of consumer electronics.
Key Products at the Exhibit Include:
- 10 kW Fiber Laser Combiners: New fiber laser combiners enable fiber laser systems to scale to 10 kW by combining the output of multiple kilowatt-class fiber lasers to achieve faster cutting or welding speeds, or to process thicker sheets of metal. These fiber laser combiners undergo extensive tests on the manufacturing line to ensure high reliability and maintenance-free operation.
- 18 W Pump Diodes: New high brightness laser diodes feature a 190 µm wide output facet designed to achieve optimum coupling efficiency into widely used 200 µm core fibers. The increased output power per emitter enables fiber laser manufacturers to generate higher power levels with a reduced number of emitters.
- Acousto-optic Q-switch (AOQS): AOQS modules enable DPSS lasers to generate high energy pulses at rapid intervals to increase the throughput of scribing, drilling and marking. The AOQS modules are designed with low-loss quartz and optical coatings that achieve a very high laser damage threshold rating of 1 GW/cm2.
- 600 Watt Direct Diode Engine: DirectProcess 900, a direct diode laser engine, is now available with 600 Watt continuous output power, in a smaller form factor and with new network interfaces. II-VI’s direct diode laser engines enable greater energy efficiencies and improved quality of workmanship in aluminum cutting and welding operations.
