The LYNX CMOS from PHOTONIS is a 1.3 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor that has a resolution of 1280 (H) x 1024 (V) pixels. It has a rolling shutter that delivers a maximum frame rate of 100 fps. This image sensor has a pixel pitch of 9.7 µm × 9.7 µm with 16 mm diagonal sensor format. It has a dynamic range above 60 dB, signal-to-noise ratio of 42 dB, and an image lag of less than 0.1 %. This image sensor has a full well capacity of over 25000 e-, read noise below 4 e-, and quantum efficiency above 80 % (peak).
The LYNX CMOS can operate in two read-out modes: windowing Y-direction and X-Y mirroring. It has 10-bit digital output (LDVS) data lanes, a limiting resolution of 51 lp/mm (1280 lines), and photo response non-uniformity (PRNU) below 2% RMS. This image sensor consumes less than 425 mW of power (at 60 fps) and 450 mW of power (at 100 fps). It is available in a 73-pin PGA package that measures 23 x 23 mm and is ideal for man-portable systems, unmanned remote posts, CCTV surveillance, industrial, and scientific applications.
