LOPEC, the world's leading exhibition and conference that focuses on the latest products and trends in flexible, organic and printed electronics, will take place in Munich from March 5 to 7, 2024. Each year, the industry's leading exhibition and most important conference brings together manufacturers, users and scientists from all over the world to present innovations, discuss current developments and initiate cutting edge projects together.
“The registration phase for exhibitors is going very well,” said Armin Wittmann, Exhibition Director of LOPEC. “You can see that printed electronics continues to gain relevance, as many exhibitors have decided to take part at an earlier stage than ever before, and some have booked larger stand areas. There are also many new companies, such as the Schreiner Group, Marabu GmbH, Grünig-Interscreen AG and the Linxens Group.”
Sustainable key technology
Printed electronic components are light, flexible and thin, and have become ubiquitous in everyday life. LOPEC will place special focus on several subject areas: “In addition to the focus topics of Smart Living and Mobility, the issue of sustainability will run through LOPEC 2024,” explained Dr. Klaus Hecker, Managing Director of OE-A (Organic and Printed Electronics Association), an international working group within VDMA, adding: “Printed electronics is manufactured through sustainable production processes. Visitors will experience live presentations of new resource-saving products and their possible applications for a more sustainable future. Especially from the field of wearables, I’m looking forward to impressive examples, which will show how printed electronics in medicine can simplify and improve patient care.”
International knowledge transfer at the conference
These focus topics will also play an important role at the three-day LOPEC conference. A committee of international experts is currently reviewing and evaluating the numerous abstracts submitted, from which it will compile a coherent lecture program with around 170 conference presentations in various modules. “Printed electronics is a fundamental technology for sustainable production. We will shed light on this with various talks from industry and science,” said Wolfgang Mildner, General Chair of the LOPEC Conference. “We are particularly excited to be able to already announce the first keynote speakers: Prof. Christoph J. Brabec from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) will speak about sustainability of materials used in printed electronic products, and Dave Moore, CEO of PragmatIC Semiconductor, will address the sustainability aspect when producing flexible chips and components.”
LOPEC 2024 will once again be accompanied by a supporting program with an exhibitor forum, various panel discussions and the LOPEC Start-up Award.
