The W3+ Fair Wetzlar, the high-tech trade fair and conference, is set to take place on 19 + 20 March 2025, promising two days full of inspiration and exchange. Experts in key technologies from the region and far beyond will gather in the economically strong high-tech region of Wetzlar/ Mittelhessen to explore new business opportunities and jointly launch technological innovations. The focus is on key fields of application such as semiconductors, medical technology, life sciences, mechanical and plant engineering, automotive, and aerospace.

Prominent representatives from the region include companies such as Carl Zeiss SMT, Hensoldt Optronics, OptoTech Optikmaschinen, Harmonic Drive, Helmut Hund, and SPEA. Numerous exhibitors such as Märzhäuser, LK Mechanik, Hoyer Montagetechnik, Bandelin electronic, Fibotec Fiberoptics, AuTeBa, and Mountain Photonics are presenting themselves at the trade fair for the first time.

Conference highlights and a wide range of supporting events

Knowledge transfer is a top priority at the W3+ Fair. The accompanying conference “en-tech.talks”, which is supported by many partners - above all the gold partners Wetzlar Network and EPIC - will start with the thematic block “Semiconductor technology from Central Hessen”. Other main topics include laser development, life science & medical technology, transformation in the automotive industry, an EPIC TechWatch, industrial image processing with AI, and modern optics.

In addition to the pure focus on the core topics of optics, photonics, electronics, and mechanics, which the W3+ Fair brings under one roof, supporting events on important cross-sectional technologies will be offered. The chambers of commerce will organise conferences on the topics of AI & robotics. There will also be AI workshops offering practical insights into the latest technology. The industry association Spectaris is inviting its “Defense & Security” specialist group to the trade fair for the first time. A Start-up Matching offers young founders a platform to get in touch with established companies. Guided tours are planned among others on the topics of medical technology and automotive.

Jobwall and Campus Area attract young talent

Gold partner EPIC will once again be in charge of the job wall to bring young professionals and companies together. The University of Applied Science Middelhesse has already confirmed its participation in the Campus Area, where the latest findings from university research will be presented, thus completing the value chain.

The first W3+ Fair took place in 2014. The fair is a key platform for cutting-edge technologies, knowledge, and talent. The focus on interdisciplinary exchange at the high-tech locations of Wetzlar/ Central Hesse and Jena/ Central Germany offers experts, companies and research institutions a unique opportunity to present their products, services, and findings to a wide audience. The W3+ Fair will be back in Jena on September 24 + 25, 2025.

About the W3+ Fair

The event traces its roots back to an industry imitative organised in Wetzlar and Mittelhessen, and its objective is to interlink the four sectors of optics, photonics, electronics and mechanics. The aim is that new interfaces and points of contact will pave the way for forward-looking technologies. The trade fair debuted at the Buderus Arena in Wetzlar in February 2014. The W3+ Fair is organised by the Hamburg-based company, FLEET Events (fleet-events.de). In 2023, the organizer has expanded its portfolio to include the W3+ Fair Jena. Together with EPIC and IVAM, the W3+ Fair team organized a joint stand at the new APE Asian Photonics Expo in Singapore from 2024.
