The CMV12000 from ams AG is a 12.6 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor that has a resolution of 4096 (H) x 3072 (V) pixels. It has a pipelined global shutter in a 28.16 mm optical format that delivers a maximum frame rate of 300 fps (at 10-bit) & 132 fps (at 12-bit, full resolution). This image sensor has a pixel pitch of 5.5 µm x 5.5 µm and full well charge of 13500 e-. It has a quantum efficiency of 50% and sensitivity of 4.64 V/lux.s (at 555 nm).
The CMV12000 has a dynamic range of 60 dB and temporal noise of 13 e-. This image sensor has a conversion gain of 0.11 DN/e- and dark current of 70 e-/s. It has a maximum signal to noise ratio of 41.3 dB and shutter efficiency of 1/50000 (at 555 nm). This image sensor has a photo response non-uniformity (PRNU) of 1.27% RMS and dark current non-uniformity (DCNU) of 7.5 e-/s. It has an 8/10/12-bit ADC and is available in mono or color options.
The CMV12000 can achieve higher frame rates in row-windowing mode or row-subsampling mode and is programmable using an SPI interface. This image sensor requires a supply voltage of 1.98 V (digital) & 3.3 V (analog) and consumes 750 mA of current. It uses LVDS interface for the output data transfer at a maximum rate of 600 Mbit/s. This image sensor is available in a 237-µPGA ceramic package and is ideal for machine vision, high end inspection, video/broadcast, motion capture and intelligent transportation system (ITS) applications.
