The CSG14K from ams AG is a 13.8 MegaPixel High-speed CMOS Image Sensor that brings new performance options to designers of industrial vision equipment. The image sensor is based on a pixel design that gives low noise and a wide dynamic range for high image quality even in challenging conditions. It has a frame rate of 140 fps in full resolution and has a high SNR value for a 1.05-inch optical format. The image sensor supports a 10/12 bit ADC resolution and can be controlled via SPI, and sub-LVDS interfaces. It has image statistics gathering feature that can be used for testing and debugging purposes. The image sensor consists of OB pixels for on-chip offset and noise correction of the black level in optical illumination. It has a dual exposure HDR mode that can enhance its optical dynamic range and can capture fast-moving objects in low light conditions. The image sensor is available in an LGA package that measures 20 x 22 mm and is ideal for machine vision, high-end inspection, video/broadcast, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and security applications.
