The Dragster Series from ams AG are Digital Line-Scan CMOS Image Sensors that have a resolution of 2K/4K/6K/8K/16K pixels. They have a pipelined global shutter with true-CDS that has three types of basic elements: single (1x) and dual (2x) lines with 2048 pixel resolution & 4096 pixel resolution. These sensors have pixel sizes of 7 μm x 7 μm & 3.5 μm x 3.5 μm and fill factor of 100%. They have a pixel pitch of 7 μm (2048 pixels) & 3.5 µm (4096 pixels) and full well capacity of 46 ke- (2048 pixels) & 23 ke- (4096 pixels).
The Dragster Series have 1 x 2048, 1 x 4096, 1 x 6175 & 1 x 8192 number of pixels and 32, 2 x 32 (2048 pixels) & 64 number of dark & special pixels (4096 pixels). They have a quantum efficiency of 60% (2048 pixels) and 56% (4096 pixels) at 630 nm. These image sensors have a responsivity of 77 DN/nJ/cm2 with analog gain 4x of 310 DN/nJ/cm2 at 12 bit (2048 pixels) and 39 DN/nJ/cm2 with CDS gain 4x of 155 DN/nJ/cm2 at 12 bit (4096 pixels).
The Dragster Series has a temporal dark noise of 1.5 DN/12bit with 2.9 DN/12bit rms gain 4x (2048 pixels) and 1.6 DN/12bit with 3.4 DN/12bit rms gain 4x (4096 pixels). They have a maximum line rate of 80 kScan/s (2048 pixels & 4096 pixels) and 160 kScan/s (dual line mode: 2048 pixels). These image sensors have a photo response non-uniformity (PRNU) of 0.7% (2048 pixels) & 0.8% (4096 pixels) and dark signal non-uniformity (DSNU) of 4 DN/12bit.
The Dragster Series has a noise equivalent energy (NEE) unity gain of 0.02 nJ/cm2 with analogue gain gain x4 of 0.01 nJ/cm2 (2048 pixels) & 0.04 nJ/cm2 with analogue gain x4 of 0.02 nJ/cm2 (4096 pixels). They have total system gain K of 0.076 DN/e- (2048 pixels) with ADC resolutions of 12 bit (internal 13 bit). These image sensors have an exposure time from 2 μs to infinite (2048 pixels) & 1 μs to infinite (4096 pixels) and non linearity of 2%. They have a dark current of 3 e-/ms and maximum trigger delay of 1 μs.
The Dragster Series have 2 output taps per 2k segment, 4 for each 2 x 2k pixels segment (2048 pixels) and 4 per 4k pixel segments (4096 pixels). They have an asynchronous integration control with 6 digital signals. These image sensors require a DC supply voltage of 3.3 V and consume up to 30 mA (digital) & 50 mA (analog) of current. They can be controlled via serial 4-line configuration interfaces and have RGB color filter options. These image sensors are available in an LLC package that measures 23.8 mm x 16.6 mm x 3.5 mm and are ideal for industrial applications such as material processing & factory automation.
