The CMV4000 from ams OSRAM is a 4.2 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor that has a resolution of 2048 (H) x 2048 (V) pixels. It has a pipelined global shutter in a 1” optical format that delivers a frame rate of 180 fps (at 10-bit). This image sensor has a pixel pitch of 5.5 µm x 5.5 µm and full well charge of 13.5 ke-. It has a quantum efficiency of 60% and sensitivity of 5.56 V/lux.s at 550 nm.
The CMV4000 has a dynamic range of 60 dB and temporal noise of 13 e-. This image sensor has a conversion gain of 0.075 LSB/e- and dark current of 125 e-/s. It has a parasitic light sensitivity of up to 1/50000 and shutter efficiency above 99.998%. This image sensor has a photo response non-uniformity (PRNU) of less than 1% RMS and dark signal non-uniformity (DSNU) of 3 LSB/s (at 10-bit). It has a 10/12-bit column ADC and is available in mono or color options.
The CMV4000 can achieve higher frame rates in row-windowing mode and is programmable using an SPI interface. This image sensor requires a supply voltage of 2.1 V (digital), 3.3 V (analog) and consumes a maximum current of 380 mA & dissipates 790 mW of power. It uses LVDS interface for the output data transfer. This image sensor is available in 95 pins µPGA, LGA & 92 pins LCC custom ceramic packages and is ideal for machine vision, 3D imaging, motion capture, bar & 2D code scanning, intelligent traffic systems, video & broadcast & biometrics applications.
