The Flash 4K from Teledyne e2v is a CMOS image sensor specifically designed for 3D laser profiling/displacement applications and high speed, high-resolution inspection. The new sensor has a 6µm CMOS global shutter pixel with micro-lens which effectively combines high resolution and fast frame rate. It is available in a 4K horizontal resolution, with a frame rate of 1800fps (8 bits), and readout speed of 25.6 Gbps. The sensor can be configured for either linear light-to-digital response (achieving up to 50dB of dynamic range) or piecewise linear light-to-digital response (achieving a dynamic range over 100dB).

The sensor is available in a µPGA ceramic package that measures 49 x 37 mm. This 3D sensor incorporates a sophisticated ultra-high-speed column-parallel readout channel with  8 or 10-bit accuracy, and include 64 (resp. 32) LVDS high-speed data ports that transfer 8 and 10-bit images at a speed of up to 960 (resp. 800) Mbps each.
