The HM2140-AWA from Himax Technologies is a CMOS Image Sensor that has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (FHD). It has a 1/4” optical format that delivers a frame rate of up to 30 fps at full resolution. This image sensor has a sensitivity of 1650 mV/Lux–sec with an SNR of 36.7 dB and a maximum CRA of up to 18°. It requires a DC supply of 1.8-3.3 V and consumes 89.5 mW of power. This image sensor uses a 1-lane MIPI CSI-2 and a 10-bit Parallel interface for video output.
The HM2140-AWA uses Himax Imaging UltraSense Back Side Illuminated (BSI) 2 x 2 µm pixel technology to deliver exceptional sensitivity, response uniformity and noise performance. It has integrated LDO, POR & PLL and an on-chip temperature sensor. This image sensor has precision black level calibration independent of operation temperature, gain & voltage and supports 3D SYNC for image synchronization. It has a binning sum mode that increases the pixel sensitivity and reduces the sensor’s power compared to the normal FHD mode in the same frame rate. This image sensor is available in a CSP package and is ideal for IoT, a wide range of battery-powered video cameras such as home cameras, battery doorbells, action cameras and consumer surveillance applications.
