The OH0TA from OmniVision Technologies is an 8 Mega Pixel CMOS Image Sensor that is specially designed for medical applications. It is based on OmniVision’s PureCel Plus-S stacked die technology that offers 4K/2K resolution by eliminating fixed pattern noise, providing high dynamic range (HDR), exceptional low light sensitivity, zero blooming, and lower power consumption. This rolling shutter image sensor has a frame rate of up to 60 fps in 4K and a lens size of 1/2.49 inches. It has 4-cell three-exposure HDR with tone mapping for improved HDR output and two-exposure staggered HDR support. This image sensor requires a DC supply of 1.1 V (core), 2.8 V (analog) & 1.8 V (I/O) and consumes 450 mW of power. It can be controlled via SCCB and 4-lane MIPI TX interface with a speed of up to 2.5 Gbps/lane.
The OH0TA consists of a 15.5° chief ray angle which enables the use of lenses with high fields-of-view and short-focus distances. It has an embedded 8k bits of one-time programmable (OTP) memory, an on-chip 4-cell to Bayer converter, 3 PLLs, and a built-in temperature sensor. This image sensor supports dynamic defect pixel cancellation (DPC) and horizontal & vertical subsampling. It is available in a CSP package that measures 7074.4 x 4621.9 μm and is ideal for single-use and reusable medical gastroscopes, endoscopes, amnioscopes, laparoscopes, and colonoscopes.
