The OS12D40 from OmniVision Technologies is an 11.3 MP CMOS Image Sensor that is designed for machine vision, security cameras and PC multimedia applications. It has a 1.2.49” optical format and delivers a frame rate of 60 fps. This image sensor has an on-chip 4-cell to Bayer remosaic converter, three on-chip PLLs and a built-in temperature sensor. It supports automatic black level calibration (ABLC), dynamic defect pixel cancellation (DPC), 4-cell binning and horizontal/vertical subsampling. This image sensor can be controlled via a serial SCCB interface and uses up to 4-lane MIPI TX interface with speed up to 2.5 Gbps/lane or 2/3 trio C-PHY interface with speed up to 1.6 Gsps/trio for output.
The OS12D40 uses PureCell Plus-S stacked pixel technology to reduce crosstalk and maximize quantum efficiency in low light that enables high quality video capture in ultra wide-angle for security and surveillance. It has a 3-exposure, 4-cell HDR capability that provides exceptional low light performance and artifact elimination for moving objects. This image sensor has a fast mode switch that allows security operators or AI-enabled surveillance systems to seamlessly switch to 4K2K mode when a specific threat is identified for closer inspection.
The OS12D40 requires a DC supply of 1.1 V (core), 2.8 V (analog) & 1.8 V (I/O) and consumes 505 mW of power. It is available in a 108-pin fan-out package that measures 8.5 x 8.5 x 5.1 mm.
