The OV50A from OmniVision is a 50 MP CMOS Image Sensor that is suitable for superior autofocus applications in flagship and high-end smartphones. It is built on OmniVision’s PureCelPlus architecture and supports an image resolution of up to 8192 x 6144 at 30 frames per second. The sensor has a pixel size of 1.008 x 1.008 µm2 with an automatic black level calibration feature (ABLC) and provides stagger HDR with 2/3 exposure timing. It has a 1/1.5 inch optical format with Quad Phase Detection (QPD) autofocus technology that enables 2 x 2 Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF) across the sensor’s entire image array. The sensor integrates an on-chip remosaic for the QPD color filter array that provides a 50 MP Bayer output and captures 8K videos in real-time. It supports a 10-bit RGB RAW output format and supports a standard-serial SCCB interface. The image sensor is ideal for smartphones, PC multimedia, and video conferencing devices.
