The OV64A from OmniVision Technologies is a 64 Mega Pixel CMOS Digital Image Sensor with a 1.0-micron pixel size. Built on OmniVision’s PureCelPlus stacked die technology, it has an active array size of 4656 x 3496 mm and offers a maximum image transfer rate of 15 frames per second (fps). These large optics and high resolution provide the greatest possible performance in low light conditions for the wide and ultrawide main cameras in high-end smartphones. It requires a DC supply of 1.8 V and supports the standard serial SCCB interface.
This CMOS image sensor features automatic black level calibration (ABLC) and supports horizontal and vertical subsampling, 10-bit HDR RGB RAW output, dynamic DCP cancellation, and image sizes of up to 1280 x 720. It has a programmable I/O drive capability and can be integrated with a 4-lane MIPI Tx interface which has a speed of up to 3 Gbps/lane. This sensor also offers a 2 and 3 exposure staggered HDR timing option, providing smartphone designers with maximum flexibility to select the best HDR method for a given scene. It is ideal for smartphones, PC multimedia, and video conferencing applications.
