The AAA0847NXX from SK Hynix is an 8 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor that has a 10-bit ADC in a 1/4.4 inch optical format. It delivers a frame rate of 30fps at 3264x2448, 60fps at FHD 1080P and 90fps at HD 720P resolutions. This image sensor has an on-chip PLL for high-speed clock generation, built-in test pattern generation and 8 KB OTP memory. It requires a DC supply of 1.1-2.8 V and consumes less than 156 mW of power. This CMOS image sensor has a paired Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) feature that ensures greater image quality. It uses a remosaic IP algorithm for real-time conversion between resolution-centric and quality-centric camera modes depending on the lighting conditions. This sensor can be controlled via a two-wire serial bus interface and uses a MIPI 4-Lane (Max 1Gbps on each lane) & a MIPI 2-Lane (Max 1.696Gbps on each lane) interface for output.
The AAA0847NXX uses 0.8 μm BSI pixel technology that is optimized for slim smartphones and reduces FPN (Fixed Pattern Noise), horizontal/vertical line noise and random noise. It has Dual Conversion Gain (DCG) pixels that automatically optimize pixel sensitivity and adapt the camera to surrounding lighting conditions, enabling steady production of high-quality and high-ISO images even when the lighting rapidly shifts. It supports features like dead pixel correction, 2D lens shading correction and dual camera synchronization (FSYNC). This device can produce line-interlaced long-short output for iHDR and is ideal for mobile phone cameras, digital still cameras, PC cameras, and video conference applications.
