The VG5661 from STMicroelectronics is a 1.6 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor that has a resolution of 1464 (H) x 1104 (V) pixels. It has a global shutter in a 1/3” optical format that delivers a frame rate of up to 75 fps. This image sensor has a linear dynamic range of up to 98 dB and 11-bit ADC with digital CDS. It has a pixel size of 3.2 µm x 3.2 µm that supports GS-HDR, monochrome, visible & IR spectrum and produces linear or compressed output from RAW8 to RAW16 resolution. This image sensor can be controlled via a camera control interface (CCI) and has a 12-bit parallel interface with a frequency of 100 MHz.
The VG5661 uses a MIPI CSI-2 serial interface for output and has a data rate of 4 x 0.8 Gbps. It has integrated double temperature sensors, up to 4-LED control outputs, and 8 regions of interest (ROI). This image sensor features an embedded 16-bit video processing pipe with pixel defect correction, 2x/4x binning & subsampling, programmable sequences of 4-frame contexts, master/slave external frame start control, and mirror/flip/crop modes. It is available in an IM2BGA package that measures 8.5 mm x 8.5 mm (with a monochrome microlens) and is ideal for high-end computer vision applications.
