The FWPR-20-SI from FEMTO is a Femotwatt Photoreceiver that operates from 320 to 1100 nm. It has been designed by combining a Si PIN photodiode with a trans-impedance amplifier. The trans-impedance amplifier provides a high gain of up to 10^12 V/A and has a very low noise of 0.7 fW/Hz. The photoreceiver can be used for direct detection of optical power up to 50 Femtowatt (fW) and has high sensitivity. It requires a DC supply of 15 V and consumes up to 15 mA of current. The photoreceiver offers high quantum efficiency in visible and near-infrared regions. Due to its high sensitivity, it can replace APD (avalanche photodiodes), photomultiplier tubes (PMT), and liquid nitrogen cooled germanium photodiodes in applications where cooling and high power supply are not available.

The FWPR-20-SI is available in a nickel-plated module that measures 84.0 x 51.0 27.3 mm with BNC Female connectors. It is ideal for fluorescence measurements, spectroscopy, electrophoresis, and chromatography applications.
