The MP-8000-40-ATX from Microwave Photonic Systems are Amplified Microwave Fiber Optic Transmitters that operate at a wavelength of 1550 nm. They deliver an output power of 11 mW and have a frequency response of 1 GHz - 40 GHz. These fiber optic transmitters have an optical back reflection above -55 dB and a spur-free dynamic range of 102 dB*Hz. They have an input/output RF impedance of 50 Ohms and input/output VSWR of 2:5:1.
The MP-8000-40-ATX have an RF link gain flatness of ±7 dB (0.5 GHz - 40 GHz) & ±1 dB (over 500 MHz) and RF link noise figure of 35 dB. They have an input 1dB compression point of -3 dBm and input third-order compression point of 7 dB. These fiber optic transmitters use an X-cut Mach-Zehnder Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3) electro-optic modulator to ensure near zero chirp characteristics and are coupled with a high power Distributed Feedback (DFB) laser diode.
The MP-8000-40-ATX feature single fiber DWDM operation and have a high-speed noise-free bias loop, small form factor flange mount & hot swappable, plug-in module. They use single-mode SMF-28 optical fiber and can be locally controlled via an LED & remotely controlled via an RS-232 interface. These fiber optic transmitters support FC/APC, SC/APC, E2000, PC/APC & AVIM optical connector, 2.92 mm (K) female RF connector, and DB15 male power & I/O connector.
The MP-8000-40-ATX require a DC supply voltage of 15 V and consume an RF power of up to 25 dBm. They are available in a package that measures 165.1 mm x 50.8 mm x 31.75 mm and are ideal for SATCOM interfacility links, microwave antenna remoting, electronic countermeasure systems, test & measurement, wideband delay line, phased array antenna systems & secure communication system applications.
