The CMDFB1030A from Coherent Corp. is a Distributed Feedback (DFB) Laser Diode that operates at a wavelength of 1030 nm. It delivers a continuous wave output power of 200 mW and has a pulse width of 10 ns - 200 ns (pulse modulation) & 0.1 ns - 10 ns (short pulse modulation). This laser diode has a pulsed peak power of 400 mW (pulse modulation) & 800 mW (short pulse modulation) and duty cycle of up to 5% (pulse modulation) & 1% (short pulse modulation). It has an operating pulsed peak current of 0.8 A (pulse modulation) & 1.6 A (short pulse modulation) and a side mode suppression ratio (SMSR) of 20 dB. This laser diode has a chip capacitance of 50 pF and chip series resistance of 2 Ohms.

The CMDFB1030A requires a threshold current of 40 mA, forward voltage of 2 V, and consumes a continuous wave current below 400 mA. It has a mode field diameter of 6.6 µm and buffer diameter of 250 µm. This laser diode has lateral & longitudinal single mode (in short pulse operation) and an internal thermoelectric heat pump & monitor diode. It supports polarization maintaining Nufern PM980-HP optical fiber and is available in a hermetically sealed 10-pin mini butterfly package. This laser diode is ideal for fiber laser systems, frequency conversion, and spectroscopy applications.
