The SLD177H5 from Sony is a 4-Channel Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) Chip for 25 Gbps optical communications. This laser operates at 850 nm and delivers an optical output power of up to 4 mW. It operates over a supply voltage of 2.4 V and consumes up to 1.6 mA of current. This device has a beam divergence of 33 degrees with a beam pitch of 250 μm. It is based on an MQW VCSEL thermal circuit model having high-temperature stability and reliability and has a data rate of up to 25 Gbps. This laser is available as a chip and is ideal for high-speed data communications applications.
