The D780-5 from US-Lasers, Inc. is an AlGaInP Infrared Laser Diode that operates at a wavelength of 780 nm. It delivers a continuous wave output power of 5 mW and has a slope efficiency of 0.3 mW/mA. This single longitudinal mode laser diode has a beam divergence of 11 degrees (horizontal far-field) and 35 degrees (vertical far-field). It has a rise time of 1 ns, fall time of 2 ns, and reverse voltage of 2 V. This OEM laser diode has an astigmatism of 11 µm and a median time to failure (MTTF) of 3000 hrs - 5000 hrs. It has an index-guided MQW structure with a built-in photodiode. This laser diode requires a threshold current of 25 mA, DC supply voltage of 2.1 V, and consumes 35 mA of current. It is available in a 5.6 mm standard package with an emitter size of 1 microns x 4 microns.
