The VPL Series from Edinburgh Instruments are Diode Lasers that operate at a wavelength of 375 to 980 nm. They produce CW output power of 8-110 mW with an adjustable pulse width of 1 μs to 500 ns. These lasers produce beams of diameter less than 9.5 mm at output aperture with a beam quality of 10-90% using knife edge method. They require a DC supply of 15 V and consume 15 W of power.
The VPL Series is designed to match Edinburgh's spectrometers and can be incorporated into any experiment via their external trigger capability. They are optimized for long photoluminescence lifetime measurements using the Multi-Channel Scaling (MCS) detection method. The width of these lasers' excitation pulses can be easily controlled for quick optimization of the measurement conditions. They are available in a compact laser module that measures 168 x 64 x 64 mm with SMA, NIM standard and Hirose HR10A-7P-4P(73) connectors.
