The YLR-U Series from IPG Photonics are 1 μm kW-Class Ytterbium Fiber Lasers that have a central wavelength of 1070 nm (+/-10). They operate in CW/Modulated and Pulsed QCW modes with average CW power of up to 2 kW and peak pulse power of up to 3.3 kW. The central core has a diameter of 50, 100, and 200 μm and records a wall-plug efficiency of greater than 40%. These lasers offer the broadest range of beam profile tunability with power tunability from 10 to 100% and the stability of ±0.5%.
The YLR-U lasers feature a high peak power option which enables fast clean repeatable piercing and drilling in thicker materials, precision quality cutting, additional pulsed welding capabilities, and cutting and welding of highly reflective metals. The High Peak Power Option provides improved process quality and speed, increased overall throughput while saving material, time, and operating costs. They support Analog, RS-232, and Ethernet interfaces and have an in-built self-diagnostic tool with internet connectivity.
These lasers are hermetically sealed and are available in a rack-mount configuration that measures 448×550×88/448×760×88 mm. They require a supply of 200-240 VAC and have a power consumption of up to 5000 W.
These lasers are ideal for integration into industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing production lines such as 2D & 3D metal cutting, conduction welding, keyhole welding, and drilling.
