The p100 from Novanta Photonics is a Pulsed Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Laser that operates at wavelengths of 10.2 µm or 10.6 µm. It delivers an output power of greater than 90 W (at 10.2 µm) & above 100 W (at 10.6 µm) and operates at a frequency of up to 100 kHz. This linearly (vertical) polarized laser has a peak pulse power of 375 W (at 10.2 µm) & 400 W (at 10.6 µm) and maximum peak pulse energy of 180 mJ (at 10.2 µm) & 190 mJ (at 10.6 µm). It has a power stability of 37 % (cold start) & 35 % (typical, after 3 min) and maximum pulse length of 100 µs.

The p100 has a beam quality of less than 1.2 (M2) and beam diameter of 7.5 mm - 31.1 mm (at 10.2 µm) and 8 mm - 31 mm (at 10.6 µm). It has a beam divergence (full angle) of 1.8 mrad - 30.4 mrad (at 10.2 µm) and 2 mrad - 30.4 mrad (at 10.6 µm) and duty cycle range of up to 37.5 %. This laser has a rise/fall time of less than 40 µs or 80 µs (at 10.2 µm) and less than 40 µs or 100 µs (at 10.6 µm).

The p100 has user-controlled pulse or continuous wave operation modes and is built for industrial environments. This laser features built-in gas purge ports for convenient in-field servicing and has protective optical windows. It requires a DC supply voltage of 48 V and consumes a maximum current of 40 A. This laser is available in a benchtop package that measures 590 mm (L) x 132 mm (W) x 155 mm (H) and is ideal for marking, cutting, scribing, drilling, perforating, and thin film processing applications.
