The VCSEL Swept Source Caliper from OCTLIGHT is a MEMS-VCSEL Laser that operates at an output wavelength of 1060 nm. It is developed for OCT imaging in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases. The laser has an optical power of over 15 mW, It has a sweep range of over 20 nm at 10 dB and a bi-directional sweep rate of 1700 kHz. The laser has a spectrum ripple of less than 0.1 dB and ortho-RIN of less than 2%. It can be operated via a DC supply (12 V) and AC supply (100-230 V), and can be controlled via serial/USB interfaces.

This laser is based on GaAs VSCEL, SOA, and “Highly Efficient Resonant Oscillator (HERO)” technologies and has a high throughput single channel acquisition. It offers optical spectrum shaping to optimize image quality. The laser is available in a module that measures 185 x 120 x 56 mm with FC/APC connectors and is ideal for swept source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT), interferometry, and laser ranging applications.
