The Caliper-HERO from OCTLIGHT is a MEMS-VCSEL Laser that operates at a center wavelength of 1060 nm. It has two models: standard & superior which deliver an optical output power above 15 mW (standard) & 15 - 50 mW (superior). This tunable laser has a wavelength accuracy of +/- 20 nm (standard) and +/- 10 nm (superior). It has a sweep range greater than 20 nm (standard) & 40 - 50 nm (superior) at 10 dB and bi-directional sweep rate of 1700 +/- 5% kHz. This laser has a spectrum ripple of less than 0.1 dB and an ortho-RIN of up to 2% (superior). It achieves envelope shaping through factory setting (standard) and user program (superior).
The Caliper-HERO Swept Source laser uses a monolithic, Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (MEMS-VCSEL) structure with reliable datacom VCSEL technology and a single material MEMS for increased reliability. The patented Highly Efficient Resonant Oscillator (HEROTM) technology achieves fast MHz scan rates by operating MEMS mirror in a vacuum. It requires a DC supply voltage of 12 V, an AC supply voltage of 100 - 230 V, and consumes a maximum current of 3 A. It has FC/APC connector and can be controlled via serial/USB interfaces. This laser is available in a module that measures 189 x 114 x 56.5 mm and is ideal for non-invasive medical imaging for wide-field ophthalmic imaging, fast image acquisition for rapid pull-back in cardiovascular imaging, ultra-fast depth monitoring for laser welding, and LiDAR applications.
