The Prima from PicoQuant is a 3-Color Picosecond Laser that operates at wavelengths of 450 nm, 515 nm, and 640 nm. It delivers a maximum power of 10 mW (pulsed) & 50 mW (continuous wave) and has a pulsed spectral width of 4 nm (at 450 nm), 6 nm (at 515 nm), 2 nm (at 640 nm) & CW spectral width of less than 1 nm. This linearly polarized laser has a pulse duration of up to 120 ps (at 450 nm), 200 ps (at 515 nm) & 150 ps (at 640 nm) and pulse repetition rate of 1 kHz - 200 MHz. It produces beams of dimension 0.55 ± 0.10 mm (at 450 nm), 0.60 ± 0.10 mm (at 515 nm) & 0.8 ± 0.20 mm (at 640 nm), and has a beam circularity of over 0.5. This laser has a polarization extinction ratio greater than 1:10.
The Prima has a rise/fall time of less than 3 ns and jitter up to 20 ps. This laser can be completely computer controlled via USB 2.0 interface & WindowsTM 10 software and uses SMA & USB-C connectors. It consumes less than 30 W of power and is available in a compact module that measures 140 (L) x 83 (W) x 75 (H) mm. This laser is ideal for material science, chemical research, life science, photoluminescence lifetime & quantum yield measurements, fluorescence lifetime measurements, time-resolved microscopy & single molecule detection (FLIM, FRET, PIE-FRET, FCS), pulsed interleaved excitation (PIE), detector testing, antibunching, and LiDAR applications.
