The RIO ORION from Redfern Integrated Optics (RIO) is a Laser Module that operates at a center wavelength of 1530 nm - 1565 nm. It delivers an output power of 10 mW - 30 mW and has a wavelength tuning range above 30 pm. This single longitudinal laser has a Lorentzian spectral linewidth of less than 15 kHz (Grade 1), 5 kHz (Grade 3), 2 kHz (Grade 4), and 1 kHz (Grade 5). It has a polarization extinction ratio of greater than 20 dB and an optical isolation of over 40 dB. This laser has a frequency modulation bandwidth of 200 MHz and a relative noise of shot noise limited.
The RIO ORION operates in CW, pulsed, and modulated modes. It has a phase noise of 22 µrad/sqrt(Hz) (Grade 1), 8 µrad/sqrt(Hz) (Grade 3), 4 µrad/sqrt(Hz) (Grade 4), and 2 µrad/sqrt(Hz) (Grade 5). This laser supports SMF or PMF pigtailed connectors and is RoHS complaint. It can be controlled via a Graphical User Interface (GUI) & USB connection and is available in a compact & turn-key benchtop package. This laser is ideal for acoustic & seismic sensing, defense & security, oil & gas - exploration & production, LiDAR & remote sensing, interferometric fiber optic sensing, metrology, RF & microwave photonics, and coherent communication applications.
