The QSL103A from Thorlabs is a Q-switched Pulsed Picosecond Microchip Laser System with an output wavelength of 1030 nm. It provides an output power of over 80 kW and has power stability of 1% over 8 hours. This laser produces pulse energy of 40 - 50 µJ with a pulse duration of 500 ps and has a repetition rate of 8-10 kHz. It has a beam divergence of 10 mrad and a beam quality factor M2 of less than 1.2. This laser requires an AC supply of 100-250 V and has a power consumption of 22 W.
The QSL103A laser system features a compact microchip laser cavity and a fiber-coupled pumped laser head. The laser head consists of SM05 (0.535"-40) internal threading on the beam aperture, and 4-40 threads for compatibility with Thorlabs’ 30 mm cage components, thus easing the integration of an external collimating lens. It has an umbilical cord that connects the laser head and controller. The laser system is integrated with safety interlocks, temperature stabilization, and all required drive electronics that are needed for operation. It has an indicator LED for the laser emission and the laser head can monitor the output pulse & repetition rate and timing the arrival of a pulse with an electronic trigger.
The QSL103A is available in a compact package that measures 307.4 x 299.9 x 84 mm with SMA Female connectors and is ideal for material processing, photoacoustic imaging, fluorescence lifetime imaging, harmonic generation, LIDAR, and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy applications.
