The TopMode 633 from TOPTICA Photonics is a CW Single-Frequency Laser Diode with an output wavelength of 633 nm. It provides an output power of 30 mW (free space), and 15 mW (fiber-coupled). This linearly polarized laser diode has a collimated circular beam of diameter 1 mm (FWHM). It can be controlled via ethernet and USB interfaces.
The TopMode 633 uses proprietary CoHerence-Advanced Regulation Method (CHARM) to provide active stabilization of the temporal coherence and ensure continuous single-frequency operation of the laser diode. In the laser head, a beam splitter directs a fraction of the laser beam to a detector unit that monitors the coherence properties of the radiation. A closed feedback loop then acts on the diode current to maintain stable coherence properties and to achieve narrow-linewidth and single-frequency laser operation. The laser diode consists of a control unit that automatically adjusts all operating parameters, such as laser temperature, diode current & polarity, and “safety clip” levels for voltage and current. It can power two laser heads simultaneously for applications that require multiple beams or wavelengths.
The TopMode 633 is available in a module that measures 192 x 80 x 60 mm (free space), and 218 x 80 x 60 mm (fiber-coupled). It is ideal for holography, high-resolution Raman spectroscopy, interferometry, quantum cryptography, photonic down-conversion, precision metrology, and scatterometry applications.
The laser diode requires an AC supply of 100-120/220-240 V and consumes up to 150 W of power.
