The SFH 4170S from OSRAM is an 850 nm infrared-LED (IRED) for biometric applications. The IRED upholds an outstanding power of 1150 mW at 1 A and radiation intensity of 280 mW/sr. It is available in a specially developed Oslon P1616 package (1.6 mm x 1.6 mm x 0.85 mm) and is particularly suitable for 2D face recognition.
