The LAAPD Series from Advanced Photonix are Deep UV Avalanche Photodiodes that operate from 120 to 1000 nm. They have a responsivity of above 25 A/W, a capacitance of 130 pF, and a response time of less than 22 ns. These photodiodes require an operating voltage of 1700-2050 V and have a dark current of up to 1200 nA. They have a quantum efficiency of 120 % and have an active area diameter of 16 mm. These non-cooled, windowless photodiodes are based on Advanced Photonix’s LAAPAD (Large area avalanche photodiode) patent technology. They are available in an SHV package and are ideal for instrumentation and medical applications.
