The PVI-3TE-8 from VIGO Photonics is a HgCdTe-based IR Photodiode that operates at a wavelength of 8 µm. It has a spectral range of 2 µm - 12 µm and current responsivity of greater than 1 A/W. This IR photovoltaic detector has an optical area of 0.5 x 0.5 mm2 or 1 x 1 mm2. It has a detectivity above 5 x 109 cm·Hz1/2/W (at peak wavelength) and time constant of up to 45 ns. This three-stage thermoelectrically cooled, optically immersed photovoltaic detector has an acceptance angle of 36° and is available in a TO8 or TO66 package. It has a zinc selenide anti-reflection coated (wZnSeAR) window to prevent unwanted interference effects.
