The Massbox from Exum Instruments is a mass Spectrometer that has a detection limit of up to 100 s of ppb. It has a spot size of up to 1 µm and a mass range of 20,000 Th. This device has a high throughput analysis of up to 16 samples in the same session. It combines dual-Laser Ablation Laser Ionization (LALI) source with Time-Of-Flight (TOF) mass analyzer. This device uses a one wavelength selective laser to remove material from the solid sample and a second laser to ionize neutrals.
The Massbox is a high-performance and compact system. It has a cloud-based data storage system and an easy-to-use interface for analysis and data processing. It is available in a compact package that measures 900 x 550 x 400 mm (without a steady-state option) and 83 x 83 x 29 mm and is ideal for trace-level detection, quantifiable chemical mapping, spatial heterogeneity measurements, and depth profiling applications.
