The NanoQuest from Ocean Insight is a NIR Spectrometer that operates from 1350 to 2500 nm. It has an optical resolution of 8 or 16 nm FWHM and a scan rate that provides experiment stability. The spectrometer has wavenumber from 7400 to 4000 cm-1 and has a signal to noise ratio of more than 3000:1. The sensor’s patented micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) technology allows for a continuous-wave Michelson interferometer which can be created monolithically on a MEMS chip and is based on Fourier Transform Infrared Technology. The device supports a USB 2.0 interface and exhibits great tolerance to motion effects. It requires a supply of 5 V and consumes 750 mW of power.
NanoQuest comes with an optical fiber and operating software and can be coupled to Ocean Insight light sources and accessories to configure systems for absorbance/transmission or reflectance measurements. The device provides extended NIR spectral range and uses single-photodetector design to reduce instrument footprint and maintain low-noise, high-stability performance. It is available in a compact, affordable package and measures 70 x 50 x 25 mm with FC/PC input fiber connector. The device is ideal for authentication, food, and agriculture, and life sciences, and biomedical applications.
