The ISQ EC from Thermo Fisher Scientific is a Single Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer that has a mass range from 10 to 1250 m/z. It has a DynaMax XR detection system with an off-axis dynode, discrete dynode electron multiplier & electrometer and provides a digital dynamic range of over 107 with a scan rate of up to 20000 Da/s. This spectrometer integrates mass spectrometry (MS) with ion chromatography (IC) or liquid chromatography (LC) systems. Its dual-role design provides exceptional low-molecular-weight performance for detection and quantitation of ions using IC-MS in addition to reliable, everyday operation for routine LC-MS.
The ISQ EC has an Atmospheric Pressure Ionization (API) source that features an orthogonal spray design with optimized probe position and adjustable source voltage. It has a heated electrospray ionization (HESI) probe in an optimized position to boost ionization efficiency and spray stability providing a HESI flow rate of up to 2 mL/min. This spectrometer has a polarity switching of 25 ms and a built-in reference standard for automated instrument calibration. It requires an AC supply of 100 - 240 V and is available in a package that measures 52 x 42 x 91 cm. It is ideal for routine IC-MS and LC-MS analysis applications for small molecules.
