The SLD-1080-30-YY-100 from Innolume is a Fiber-Coupled Superluminescent Diode that operates at a wavelength of 1080 nm. It delivers a continuous wave output power of over 100 mW with a low ASE spectrum ripple of 0.03 dB and a bandwidth of 30 nm at -3 dB. This superluminescent Diode has a rise time of 0.15 ns and a fall time of 0.5 ns. It has an internal TEC that requires a DC supply of 4 V and consumes 3 A of current. It has a strong linear polarization with a polarization extinction ratio of 20 dB.
The SLD-1080-30-YY-100 uses HI1060 or PM980 type fiber with a numerical aperture of 0.14 & 0.12 respectively and a mode-field diameter of 6.2±0.3 µm & 6.6±0.3 µm respectively. They have a length of 1.0 ± 0.1 m and a fiber bending radius of over 3 cm. These fibers have a coating diameter of 245±15 µm and a cladding diameter of 125±1 µm. The HI1060 & PM980 fibers have a Cut-Off wavelength of 920±50 nm & 900±70 nm respectively.
The SLD-1080-30-YY-100 is RoHS compliant and uses a narrow key FC/APC connector. It requires a DC supply of 1.7 V and consumes 800 mA of current. This superluminescent diode is available in a 14-Pin Butterfly package that measures 30 x 39 x 8.1 mm and is ideal for fiber sensors, instrumentation, and spectroscopy applications.
