The CHR71000 from ams AG is a 70 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor that has a resolution of 10000 (H) x 7096 (V) pixels. It has a rolling shutter that delivers a frame rate of 3 fps at full resolution. This image sensor has a pixel pitch of 3.1 μm x 3.1 μm and full well charge of over 13 Ke-. It has a quantum efficiency fill factor (QEFF) of 24% (at 550 nm), fill factor of 50% and dynamic range of 63 dB. This image sensor has a temporal noise of 10 e- and fixed pattern noise of 0.09%. It has a dark current of 3.2 e-/s and sensitivity of 0.15 A/W. This image sensor has a conversion gain of 63 μV/e- and dark signal non-uniformity (DSNU) of 6 e-/s.
The CHR71000 has a photo response non-uniformity (PRNU) of 1.5 % RMS, signal swing of 1 V, and an image lag of less than 0.1%. It can operate in two read-out modes: windowing mode or sub-sampling mode. This image sensor has an RGB Bayer color filter, 8 output channels, and is RoHS-compliant. It can be controlled via an analog output interface and has 3.3 V CMOS I/O logic levels. This image sensor requires a DC supply voltage of 3.3 V and consumes 435 mW of power. It is available in a custom PGA 65 pins ceramic package that measures 39 mm x 34 mm and is ideal for biometric applications.
