II-VI Inc, for the upcoming Laser World of Photonics 2019 event in Munich, has announced multiple product launches which will also be exhibited at the event. II-VI will be showcasing its products along with answering technical queries of attendees at their Booth #117 in Hall A2 from June 24-27.

II-VI’s newly released products to be exhibited at the event include:

120 Watt Pump Laser Modules with Wavelength-Stabilized Output Power for Ultrafast Fiber Lasers

II-VI recently announced the introduction of its 976 nm pump laser module with up to 120 W of wavelength-stabilized output power. Wavelength-stabilized pump laser modules enable ultrafast fiber lasers to operate with very short pulses for high-precision drilling and marking. II-VI’s pump laser modules achieve 120 W of output power while precisely maintaining a wavelength of 976 nm over a wide operating temperature range. Their high power enables fiber lasers to be designed with fewer pump laser modules, thus lowering laser system cost. Their precise wavelength stability lowers the warm-up time and maintenance of laser systems, improving productivity. The wavelength-stabilized pump laser modules are available over a wide range of power levels from 15 to 120 W coupled to industry-standard 106.5 µm core fiber.

First Commercial Laser Cutting Head with Zoom Optics for Ring-shaped Laser Beams

II-VI’s new BIMO-FSC-L is the first commercially available laser processing head with zoom optics optimized for state-of-the-art ring-shaped laser beams, which greatly enhance the quality of laser cutting. The laser cutting heads, with their wide magnification range of 1.3 to 3.6 and large numerical aperture of 0.18, deliver the complete solution. It heads feature zoom optics capable of independently adjusting the focal diameter and focal length over extended ranges in just milliseconds. The integrated sensor system enables a superior level of embedded intelligence that achieves maximum materials processing precision and provides just-in-time service alerts.

The BIMO-FSC-L is designed with an IP65-certified, field-proven, dust- and liquid-resistant enclosure, ensuring continuous operation even in the harshest industrial manufacturing environments. Its new advanced operation can be demonstrated at any of II-VI’s global applications labs, where custom processes can be developed to customer requirements. II-VI’s broad portfolio of state-of-the-art products for laser-based materials processing includes laser processing heads, laser light cables, laser optics, and direct diode laser engines.

High Power Collimated Laser Bars and Collimated Semi-framed Stacks for Direct Diode and DPSS Lasers

The newly introduced high power laser bars and semi-framed stacks mounted with micro-optic collimator lenses, offer customers very cost-effective modular assemblies that have high performance and reliability and can be easily integrated into direct diode lasers and diode-pumped solid state (DPSS) lasers. Direct diode and DPSS lasers are increasingly the tools of choice for a wide range of materials  processing, biomedical, and defense applications, due to their compact form factor, high power short-pulsed operation, and availability over a broad range of wavelengths from near-infrared to ultraviolet.

The performance, quality, reliability, and cost of these systems are highly dependent on those of their semiconductor laser sub-assemblies. II-VI now combines its industry-leading high power laser bars and new simplified semi-framed stack structures with fully automated optical alignment processes to deliver modular assemblies at optimal cost. The company’s portfolio of components for DPSS lasers includes neodymium-doped gain crystals such as Nd:YVO4, Nd:YLF, and Nd:YAG as well as  dichroic mirrors, wavelength or polarization combiners, resonator optics and acousto-optic Q-switches. II-VI also offers beam delivery optics such as scan mirrors and lenses as well as beam expanders and f-theta lenses.

High Power Laser Light Cables for Blue Lasers in Materials Processing

The electrification of transportation is accelerating and driving the demand for laser processing of copper, a metal of choice in electric vehicles due to its high conductivity. Copper’s absorption of high power blue laser energy is highly efficient and produces strong and spatter-free copper welds in electric vehicle parts such as battery terminals, power busbars, and electric motor windings. II-VI’s new blue laser light cables are rated for 1 kW, enabling high power blue laser beams to efficiently reach laser processing heads mounted on highly dynamic robotic arms or gantry systems.

The new cables are designed for laser wavelengths ranging from 405 to 550 nm. They are available with the LLK-Q connector, standard for laser cutting heads, and the LLK-Auto connector, which meets the requirements of the automotive industry. II-VI also offers fiber-to-fiber couplers that facilitate combining laser light cables to achieve longer spans.

Faster Laser Processing Heads with Integrated Vision Systems for Precision Welds in Next Generation Automotive Manufacturing

II-VI’s new faster RLSK remote laser processing heads with integrated vision systems enable state-of-the-art precision welds that are critical in next-generation automotive manufacturing. It features a new vision system with high precision seam tracking capabilities that enable filet welds, which, compared with conventional overlap welds, save material and produce vehicles that are lighter and therefore more fuel-efficient. Filet welds also improve the mechanical fit and smooth action of closures such as doors, hoods, and trunk lids, enhancing the consumer experience.

The advanced operation of the RLSK laser processing head can be demonstrated at any of II-VI’s global applications labs, where custom processes can be developed to customer requirements. The RLSK is available with an optional internal camera for process training and monitoring. The laser processing heads are supported by II-VI’s popular RLSK Studio software suite.

II-VI at Laser World of Photonics  Munich

At the Laser World of Photonics 2019 event, II-VI will exhibit one of the broadest portfolios of merchant products for all laser technology platforms employed in high power or precision materials processing. From ultraviolet to the far-infrared, II-VI’s market-leading laser optics will be on display along with new products for fiber lasers and some of the most advanced laser heads and beam delivery solutions on the market.

In the life sciences area, the display will consist of spectroscopy optics, flow cells, and precision temperature-controlled modules to support advances such as those in DNA sequencing. II-VI will also show products from epitaxial wafers to semiconductor lasers that will enable exciting new features such as 3D sensing in the next generation of consumer electronics.
