In a bid to help and encourage budding start-ups in the field of lasers and photonics, the LASER World of PHOTONICS 2019 event will be having a dedicated forum available for aspiring young entrepreneurs to present their fresh ideas and new perspectives.
In 2015, the first exhibition area for international start-ups in the field of lasers and photonics was created to host live presentations of smart solutions. Start-ups those are not more than five years old have the unique opportunity to present their best new development efforts and potential to an international audience of key players, decision-makers and photonics insiders.
This gathering of potential investors also offers the perfect opportunity for start-ups to present their new laser developments and other groundbreaking innovations—maybe even to pitch a deal with a member of the audience. In addition to that, extraordinary and particularly promising solutions are honored with the Start-Up Award. The award ceremony is an integral part of the supporting program.

START-UP JOINT PAVILION
The Start-Up Joint Pavilion will give exhibitors, visitors and journalists an innovations marketplace that extends far beyond the exhibition stand and features an extensive program of related events and matchmaking opportunities. Messe München’s initiative gives relatively new companies (no more than 5 years old) with limited resources visibility and industry contacts at leading international trade fairs. Participants also have an opportunity to be part of the Pavilion.
START-UP AWARDS
The finalists of the awards have been selected! At the event, there will be a new round for the Start-Up Award given in cooperation with the British publisher Europa Science.
The following six young companies have already qualified for the final round:
The six finalists will be duly informed and invited to present their solutions at the LASER World of PHOTONICS event. The winners will be announced following a live pitch on June 25, 2019 from 10:30 on the stage of the Photonics Forum “Lasers Materials Processing” in hall A3. The prices include:
- 1st price: A Start-Up Award and EUR 5,000
- 2nd price: A Start-Up Award and A Table Top at LASER World of PHOTONICS 2021
- 3rd price: A Start-Up Award
LASER World of PHOTONICS 2019 is once again going to be an attractive platform for promising start-ups to present innovative developments and groundbreaking ideas and to advance the various fields of photonics to the next level.
