LASER World of Photonics China Postponed Till Further Notice!

As a direct consequence of the on-going coronavirus concerns and, in accordance with guidelines from the health authorities of the Shanghai City Government, leading event organizer, Messe München, has announced the postponement of the LASER World of PHOTONICS CHINA 2020 event which was scheduled to take place from March 18 - 20, 2020 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center SNIEC in China.

Messe München added that it is maintaining constant contact with the health authorities with regard to the Coronavirus. According to the organization, it currently sees “no reason to restrict trade fair operations at its Munich sites – there are currently no changes to the conditions for entry.” Full details of the postponements and reasons are published here.

The event organizer has implemented the recommendations and guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) and those of the Robert Koch Institute, with whom it is in ongoing contact for its events.

Messe München is active in China with several subsidiaries and trade fairs. The event organizer commented that the outbreak of the virus has heavily impacted developments in China. In order to further accelerate the prevention and control of pneumonia caused by the novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), human health and safety are the highest priority.

Since January 24, 2020, the city government of Beijing, China, has been responding to major public health emergencies and has canceled major events to protect the health and safety of exhibitors, visitors and the public. Accordingly, decisions have been made regarding Messe München events in China in February and March 2020. From January 29, 2020, the Group has also banned business travel to and from China until further notice.
