Oxxius Names Scott Gibbs as General Manager of U.S. Subsidiary

Oxxius, a leader in designing, developing and manufacturing compact lasers and photonic systems, has announced the appointment of Scott Gibbs as General Manager of Oxxius Inc., its American subsidiary based in Williston, Vermont. Oxxius Inc. provides Laser Diode Illuminators (LDIs) and distributes the full Oxxius portfolio of lasers and wavelength combiners across North America. This appointment marks a strategic milestone in Oxxius’s United States growth strategy.

Scott Gibbs: 35 Years of Industrial Expertise for Oxxius in the United States

With a career spanning over 35 years in demanding industrial environments, Scott Gibbs brings Oxxius a rare expertise at the intersection of operations, manufacturing, engineering and management. He has built his experience across three major technology organizations.

In the semiconductor industry, Gibbs served as Director of Operations at IBM’s photomask facility, where he oversaw complex manufacturing operations and leveraged decades of experience in the photomask business. He then joined GlobalFoundries as Director of Engineering, continuing his manufacturing executive leadership at the highest level.

Gibbs subsequently crossed over to the life sciences industry, spending seven years at Chroma Technology, a specialist in precision optical filters, where he implemented LEAN methodologies, strengthened quality systems, and optimized production processes as Manufacturing & Quality Engineering Manager.
