Rainbow Photonics was founded as a spin-off from the Nonlinear Optics Laboratory of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, in 1997.The highest nonlinearity of the organic crystals DSTMS, DAST and OH1 and high efficiency THz generation using ultra-compact laser sources (fiber lasers) was first demonstrated in 2003 by the founders of the company.
