The explicit objective is to promote Optics and Photonics regional activities in Latin American that enhance their development and impact on regional countries and communities. As such, they are partially heir to independent activities that were carried out at the national level, but as a Latin American movement arose at OSA. Therefore, it welcomes the partnership and participation of all the national and regional international societies in the region.
