Photometric Solutions, a provider of photometric and radiometric measurement solutions, is showcasing the LMK Imaging Photometer series, a range of imaging-based measurement systems developed for luminance and color analysis applications. The LMK family combines high-resolution imaging sensors, photometric measurement capabilities, and a wide selection of optical configurations to support precise evaluation of light and color characteristics across a variety of measurement environments.
The product family includes the LMK 6 MONO, LMK 6-5 COLOR, and LMK 6-12 COLOR models. The color versions are equipped with Sony CMOS image sensors offering resolutions of 2464 x 2056 pixels and 4112 x 3008 pixels, enabling detailed image-based analysis of luminance and chromaticity distributions. The systems acquire measurement data through 12-bit digital imaging technology and are designed to provide high-resolution measurement results across the entire field of view.
A key feature of the LMK platform is its broad measurement capability. Depending on luminance level, lens selection, and exposure settings, measurement times can be adjusted from 100 microseconds up to 15 seconds, allowing the system to accommodate a wide range of measurement conditions. The platform also offers a dynamic range of approximately 1:10,000,000 (140 dB), enabling the analysis of both low- and high-luminance scenes within the same measurement framework. Data transfer is supported through a Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) interface, providing efficient communication between the instrument and connected systems.
The LMK series utilizes full-glass optical filters matched to established photometric and colorimetric functions. For luminance measurements, the system employs filters matched to the V(λ) function, while color measurements are supported through filters adapted to the X(λ), V(λ), and Z(λ) functions. Additional filter options are available for V′(λ), Smel(λ), Blue Light Hazard (BLH), and near-infrared measurements, extending the versatility of the platform for specialized measurement tasks. The systems measure luminance in cd/m² and support chromaticity coordinate measurements in x,y format. This extensive color-space support provides flexibility for users working in different measurement and analysis environments.
According to the specifications, the LMK series offers calibration uncertainty values below 2% for fixed-focus lenses and below 2.5% for focusable lenses, while repeatability is specified at less than 0.1%. Measurement accuracy is listed at less than 3% for standard illuminant A conditions, with uniformity values below 2%. These characteristics are intended to support consistent and reliable measurement performance.
To address diverse measurement requirements, the LMK platform supports an extensive range of interchangeable optics. Available options include focusable lenses with focal lengths ranging from 6.5 mm to 150 mm, as well as dedicated macro lenses, conoscope optics, fisheye optics, and near-eye-display optics. Depending on the selected lens, object field sizes range from wide-angle views exceeding 80 degrees to highly detailed macro imaging configurations covering only a few square millimeters.
The systems are available in compact camera housings, with dimensions ranging from 80 mm x 80 mm x 47 mm for the LMK 6 MONO model to 140 mm x 110 mm x 47 mm for the LMK 6-12 COLOR version. Depending on the model, system weights range from approximately 600 grams to 1300 grams, excluding optics. With high-resolution imaging sensors, broad luminance measurement capabilities, extensive optical configurability, and support for numerous color analysis formats, the LMK Imaging Photometer series provides a versatile platform for luminance and color measurement applications requiring detailed image-based photometric evaluation.
