Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, organizers of the International Laser Technology Congress AKL, have decided to cancel International Laser Technology Congress AKL 2020 event due to the on-going concerns over spread of the COVID-19 virus. Th event was schduled to be held from May 6-8 in the city of Aachen, Germany.

Fraunhofer ILT, in its latest release has stated that the management team has set the highest priority to the safety and health of their staff, partners and all attendees of AKL´20. Fraunhofer ILT thus has evaluated the progressing situation with respect to the spread of the virus and is in process of consulting with the local authorities.

According to the current situation, the management has decided not to move forward with AKL´20, to which about 600 attendees and more than 80 lecturers were expected. This is a preventative measure. Depending on the future development of the pandemic, ILT will decide on an alternative date for the AKL conference. Over the next days, Fraunhofer ILT will contact all attendees, lecturers, and exhibitors to convey the latest AKL´20.
