Power Technology, a designer and manufacturer of laser products for scientific, biomedical, industrial, semiconductor inspection, machine vision, defense, and security applications, has announced four new High-brightness models of its ClearCut materials processing laser engine. Engineered for the demanding needs of precision precious metals welding and cutting that require a low Beam Parameter Product (BPP), the High-brightness ClearCut editions are designed for precision uses such as watchmaking and jewelry applications. They are currently available in output powers ranging from 110 to 700 Watts.

"These new ClearCut laser engines offer the best BPP available in the market today," said Walter Burgess, co-CEO of Power Technology. "Perfectly engineered for precision applications, the ClearCut laser engine will reduce your fabrication times, costs, and mistakes. Power Technology can offer the units with relatively quick lead times."

The laser’s unique wavelength of 450 nm is optimized for maximum absorption of copper, gold, and silver. This unique optimization makes the ClearCut up to 20 times faster and more efficient compared to traditional cutting lasers at 1064 nm. ClearCut provides excellent wall-plug efficiency, lower maintenance costs, and easy integration.

"The 113 to 365 µm fiber output gives you extremely small spot sizes, making it ideal for your most demanding applications", said Burgess.
