World Star Tech, a Canadian designer and manufacturer of photonic components and laser instruments, is unveiling a major expansion of its product portfolio at SPIE Photonics West 2026, marking 30 years of operation in the photonics industry. Exhibiting at Booth 4605, the company is showcasing production-ready platforms engineered for repeatability, automation-enabled manufacturing, and measurement-grade performance for industrial and OEM customers.
With in-house expertise spanning optical, mechanical, electronics, and embedded engineering, World Star Tech develops scalable platforms that deliver precision performance across laser marking, laser-diode characterization, spectroscopy, beam diagnostics, fiber-coupled laser sources, collimated laser diode modules, and advanced imaging systems.
AI-Enabled Laser Marking for Industrial Traceability
Among the highlights is the NexGen Laser Marker, a compact, AI-enabled 25 W MOPA fiber laser marking system designed for high-throughput industrial marking and traceability workflows. The portable platform integrates intelligent features to reduce setup time and improve marking consistency across varied part geometries.
Key capabilities include autofocus marking, AI-assisted 3D object detection for automated alignment, and multi-component marking workflows that support sequential marking operations - all within a system architecture weighing under 5 kg, configuration dependent.
Simplifying Laser Diode Testing and Characterization
World Star Tech is also introducing a Laser Diode Analyzer, a plug-and-play instrument developed to streamline laser diode testing in engineering, production, and QA environments. Featuring intelligent automatic pin detection, the system reduces setup errors and accelerates bring-up, particularly when working with devices from multiple suppliers or with uncertain pinouts.
Compact Spectroscopy and Advanced Beam Diagnostics
The company’s new Compact Spectrometer targets visible-wavelength measurements from 400 - 800 nm, delivering 1 nm resolution with options for OEM integration. Designed for portability and flexibility, it supports embedded use in customer instruments, diagnostic tools, and manufacturing platforms.
Complementing this is the Laser Beam Profiler, which provides comprehensive beam analysis along with beam wander measurement. This capability allows users to quantify pointing stability over time and identify alignment drift under environmental or mechanical disturbances, supporting both laboratory diagnostics and manufacturing verification.
Precision Laser Sources for OEM Integration
World Star Tech is expanding its source offerings with single-mode fibre-coupled laser modules featuring compact pigtailed designs. Precision alignment and laser-welded assembly support long-term coupling stability, efficiency, and durability for OEM applications.
In parallel, the company is highlighting its collimated laser diode modules, manufactured using advanced automated processes. These systems emphasize tight boresight control and consistent beam shaping, enabling high-volume production with predictable optical performance for sensing, illumination, instrumentation, and optical pumping applications.
Advancing 3D Imaging with Digital Holographic Microscopy
The portfolio also includes a Digital Holographic Microscope (DHM) designed for high-fidelity 3D imaging of transparent and semi-transparent structures. By reconstructing both phase and amplitude information computationally, DHM enables detailed visualization of microscopic samples.
World Star Tech is exploring DHM applications such as red blood cell imaging, flow cytometry workflows, and broader material characterization, and is actively seeking partners to develop application-specific DHM solutions, including optimized sample handling and analysis software.
End-to-End Photonics Engineering
Across its product lines, World Star Tech supports customers with end-to-end photonics design and manufacturing, including optical and opto-mechanical design, electronics and embedded systems, and manufacturability-focused mechanical engineering. This vertical integration allows rapid transition from prototype to scalable production, with a strong emphasis on reliability and repeatability.
After three decades of serving global customers, World Star Tech continues to focus on delivering robust laser instrumentation and photonic components that help OEMs and industrial users achieve measurable performance gains and long-term competitive advantage.
