The LNA2322 from Thorlabs Inc is a LiNbO3 Electro-Optic Intensity Modulator that operates at a wavelength of 1525 nm - 1605 nm. It has an electro-optic bandwidth of 14 GHz and a minimum operating frequency from DC to 40 GHz. This X-cut electro-optic intensity modulator has an RF half-wave voltage (at 1 GHz) of 4.5 V and a DC bias half-wave voltage (at 1 kHz) of 6.5 V. It has an insertion loss of 4 dB, optical extinction ratio above 20 dB, and optical return loss of 40 dB. This electro-optic intensity modulator supports Male SMP (GPO compatible) RF connector and 2 mm narrow key FC/PC fiber connector.
The LNA2322 includes an integrated photodetector with a responsivity of 0.1 mA/mW - 0.5 mA/mW, reverse bias voltage range from -5.5 V to -3 V, and an optical power monitoring range from -5 dBm to 10 dBm. It is compatible with input PANDA polarization maintaining fiber with a fiber lead length of 1.5 m and fiber jacket of Ø900 µm (loose-tube). This electro-optic intensity modulator consumes an optical input power of 100 mW and is ideal for RF-Over-Fiber (RFOF) & microwave photonics, high-speed telecommunications & WDM transmission applications.
