The mEDFA-C12CA from Viavi Solutions Inc. is an Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier Module that operates at a wavelength of 1528 nm - 1569 nm. It delivers a saturated power of greater than 20 dBm (-4 dBm) and has gains of 24 dB (-4 dBm), 35 dB (-20 dBm) & 37 dB (-30 dBm). This Multiple Application Platform (MAP) amplifier has noise figures of up to 4.4 dB (-4 dBm), 4.1 dB (-20 dBm) & 3.7 dB (-30 dBm) and polarization dependent loss & gain of less than 0.2 dB.

The mEDFA-C12CA has two amplifiers per module and operates with a single-channel input in the C-band. It supports FC/APC connectors and is compatible with LabVIEW, Visual C++, Visual Basic, and LabWindows softwares. This optical amplifier is laser safety class 1M compliant and is available in a package that measures 4.06 cm x 13.26 cm x 37.03 cm. It is ideal for amplification of sensitive signals in automated test systems, power saturation recovery testing, and OSNR noise loading.
