Manufacturing of fibre optic polarization maintaining components requires good knowledge of the production process, in order to guarantee the stressless positioning of the PM fibre as well as its exact orientation. The precise characterization of the polarization condition of the transmitted light signal is essential. For this purpose the appropriate equipment for the manufacturing and measuring process was developed, in accordance to IEC 61300-3-40.
